Kaleido takes its audiences to a magical world of adventure into the past and future, with a dazzling blend of dexterity, drama and the most unfathomable brought to life on stage, reflecting, as if through multi-faceted mirrors, the vicissitude and mystery of life itself.

Gong (meaning “Rendezvous Point”) Theatre is a heritage landmark for the city, once one of the four leading Peking Opera venues in Shanghai some 80 years. Today, this venerable establishment that had at one time passed into oblivion has been restored to its full glory. With the debut of Kaleido and its nightly shows, as well as other matinee productions, this jewel of Shanghai theatre tradition glitters again, rich with nostalgia and magical colors in dazzling limelight.

Kaleido blends the best of old Shanghai’s nostalgic expressions with the state-of-the-art multimedia technology, presenting a tour de force of acrobatic magic, an age-old tradition reborn and pure vigor and vitality of life.
